Painting these roses was a joy

Just painted these roses in acrylic - about 30x40 cm. We had them in a vase last August in our living room. I used one of the photos I took then as reference for this painting. Have a lovely weekend.

A quick sketch of trees at Arboretum Poort Bulten, De Lutte. The colors are somehow represent the real fall colors of the leaves as I took my reference photo just a month ago.

I decided yesterday to practice using acrylic. As usual if I do some practicing, I use rose as my subject. Herewith is what I got in that quick effort. This is on mixed media paper. Cheers to every one.

Colors of autumn

Last Saturday, while I was walking back to our house from the supermarket, I shortly stopped under a tree and enjoyed looking at the amazing colors of the leaves on the ground. I picked up one and brought it with me. Later in the day, I decided to sketch it but unfortunately I was not able to get the beautiful autumn colors of the leaf. Here I posted what I had done.

Watercolor sketch of two roses

I am still tired from our vacation in East Germany. We were in Weimar, Leipzig, Dresden and again in Berlin. We did a lot of walking to see the many great places in these beautiful cities. I also learned a lot of the cities' famous histories.

Today, I sketched quickly these roses in watercolor. I don't have plenty of time yet to paint big painting that's why for now I love doing these kind of loose watercolor sketches.

Quick and loose

At the moment, I am just happy producing small sketches/paintings like these roses. After summer vacation, I hope to concentrate again on my painting.
This coming Monday, I will travel to United Kingdom, so my next post will be after about two weeks. Have a nice weekend.

A 10-minutes watercolor rose sketch

I spent ten minutes and some brushstrokes to form this little rose painting. No pencil sketch, but only wet brush and watercolors.

My blog got a problem but now fixed

Yesterday and until this morning, my blog was being redirected to widgetserver.com every time it was being opened. I sent a message to Blogger Help Forum about the problem. A certain Mr. Irsah replied and gave me an instruction how to fix it. I followed the instruction and fortunately it worked. So, the problem is now solved. Thank you very much. If I understood the instruction right, it has something to do with one of the widgets I installed in this blog, and it has to be removed. Now, my blog is back to normal.😊

There are at the moment an abundance of supply of cherries in our supermarkets. And as one of those who loves eating this fruit, I don't let the season go without enjoying its super sweet but a little bit sour taste. Sorry, but I could only paint one. Recently, we had a 'high tea' time at Theater hotel in a city not so far from where I live. I saw a rose inside the hotel and had to take a photo of it. I then used it as a reference for this painting.

I'm not always successful in painting without sketching first. So with this hyacinth I am back with a pencil sketch first which made me paint tightly. 
We bought this flower from AH supermarket in our neighborhood.

Painting without pencil sketch

I'm trying to paint without making any pencil sketch. And this rose painting was my practice project last week. A pleasant weekend to everyone.

A quick sketch rose

I felt it was such a long time that I have not painted. The last time I held my brushes was last December. Now it is hard to start again. I'll try again to have more time painting. Hope everyone is in good health and spirit. Happy Easter.

Our old orchid plant

I cropped from this painting the image I used in my previous post for my Christmas greetings. This old orchid plant has not been giving us flowers for some time but when I gave it a bit of care, suddenly it bloomed with amazing colors in return. So, my small deed to the plant gave me something back to enjoy.
